Blog EntryMy first ever blog entry: MY LAST (Part 1)Oct 30, '07 11:40 PM
for everyone

October 31. Last day of the month. Last working day of the week. End of the month of the rosary. Sadly, also my last day at my work.

Three and a half months ago, I started to work at the AFPDDC as research assistant/analyst. During my first week, I wanted to resign right away, but thinking about the my expensive fare (from sta. rosa to quezon city and vice versa) I said to myself, "At least maka-isang buwan aq para mabawi q naman pamasahe q!" That is the only reason that keep me going for almost three weeks.

Everyday seems to be another day that just passed by. Waking up at 4AM. Taking an early shower. Eating while thinking, "Sh**, late na naman aq, super duper traffic pa naman sa alabang." Enduring the long ride, the heavy traffic, the fat guy beside your seat who keep on pushing you (as if he owns the whole bus!), the invasion of pollutants at the metro, and the long walk from gate 3 to gate 6 (and eventually, developing leg muscles!)

Few miles away from the AFPDDC office, I could already hear the squeaky sound. It may be irritating at first but that sound belongs to one of my titas at the office. She is one certified machine gun. She always talks, she always reprimands the soldiers as well as fellow civilian worker, but she cares for me (i feel it). She always say to me, "Abby Maria, mag-ayos ka na. Andyan na ang service natin (using her high pitched tone)..." She is like a mom (maybe because she is an old maid).

As I entered our cubicle, Tita Ester (as in Escolastica), another tita, was busy pressing the keypads of her cellphone. She is the "most visited and called" person at our office because she makes great things possible which is simply amazing (got it?!). Another co-cubicle is Sgt Cabs, with his corny jokes, well, one could possibly spunk him. Eventhough, cheesy sometimes, I shared laughs with him (he's like a clown, literally). The sole guy civilian employee walked in the cubicle, he's kuya Ronnie. He is called as the "congressman" (he looks like one). Our boss, MAJ Noora, is the most handsome mistah of MAJ Flores (as he said).

From my seat, I saw my braniac Tita coming. As usual, she is also late (like me). She carries her kayumanggi complexion well. Her cubicle is located next to ours. She talked with Sgt. Mamitz, the chubby soldier who loves to bring jollibee in the morning (rhyme, rhyme). The head of their branch is Major Flores with alzheimers (he forgets things easily).

A chubby officer came, LTC Jeavy. He only eat a cup of rice every lunch (i don't know if he's consistent at home!) Nonetheless, he always treats me merienda at SM. With him is SM Gomez with a young and beautiful wife (father and daughter love story). He is one airy individual.
